It’s been quite a while since the last update, and the Deadlock Old Gods New Blood is here to satiate our hunger. And we’ll be full, alright, maybe even stuffed to the brim with its impressive catalogue of new content. And the best thing is that you can try this buffet of exciting additions right now, as the Deadlock Old Gods New Blood update is out this second!
This update introduces a mind-melting array of content, including new characters, reworks, features, and countless improvements. It even includes a new game mode for those of you who want some quick fun instead of the usual. But enough teasing, let’s feast our eyes on the smorgasbord of content and see what we’re getting ourselves into.
The Contents Of The Deadlock Old Gods New Blood Update
The contents of the Deadlock Old Gods New Blood update are vast, so let’s now add any fluff and get right to it. The first addition of this update that might surprise and excite some of you is the fast-paced Street Brawl mode. In Street Brawl, matches take five to 10 minutes instead of the 20 to 30-minute matches of the standard game mode.
Street Brawl starts players off on equal footing with equal resources in each round, so no farming is required. Each match pits two teams of four players against eachother in a best-of-five match template. After each round, players can choose three random items to add to their inventory and power their character up.
And if you return to the original game mode, you might notice a few changes made by the update. One of the first changes you’ll notice is the change to the Patrons and the city they inhabit. Instead of the same model with swapped colours for each base boss, they now have their own unique model.
Not only that, their base, troopers, and defensive abilities stand out even more now and aren’t just colour swaps. The map they inhabit has also received a few touch-ups, so be careful when you take your usual turn; it might be a little different. But before you set foot into the Cursed Apple, you have to pick your character first, and some new ones are on the way.
Starting on January 26, 2026, two characters will appear each week until all six playable characters are available. Like the previous character releases, each released character is defined by the number of votes they received, so vote for who you want to release first. The mentioned characters are Silver, Rem, Graves, Apolo, Celeste, and Venator.
Much of the UI has also received changes in the Deadlock Old Gods New Blood update, many of which you use constantly. These UI changes range from simple setting UI to additional information on your and your enemy’s team. The mentioned changes are only a small selection; there are far too many changes to mention them all here.
