Focus Entertainment has revealed the Space Marine 2 Techmarine, and fans are about to burst with excitement. The existence of the Techmarine class has been nothing but whispers until now, but that changes soon. The 12.0 Techmarine update, for Space Marine 2, is nearing completion, and that’s where the Techmarine will come in.

Information on the 12.0 update is murky at best, but the Space Marine 2 Techmarine is another question. In a recent post from Xbox, they detail the main attributes of the Techmarine while keeping the rest of it a mystery. So let’s compile what we know about the Space Marine 2 Techmarine and how he plays.

The Playstyle Of The Space Marine 2 Techmarine

The Space Marine 2 Techmarine is quite an interesting class; he certainly differentiates himself from his battle brothers. The Techmarine excels at securing areas and ensuring the crowds of enemies don’t get overwhelming. He does this with his exclusive Omnissian Axe, a Halberd that also acts as a wrench, quite handy when you need to fight and repair.

The Omnissian Axe attacks with broad sweeps, similar to the Power Hammer. The Space Marine 2 Techmarine also gets ranged weapons, and alongside their perks, they won’t falter with ranged combat. The Techmarine also has an extra set of hands, so to speak, that bolsters your ranged capabilities.

When activated, the Techmarine’s class ability activates one of his auxiliary arms to fire an automatic Servo-Gun. The Servo-Gun is perfect for when you’re busy hacking and slashing at enemies, as it doesn’t require any aim. The Techmarine’s class ability launches a salvo of bolter rounds at your surrounding enemies completely autonomously.

The Servo-Gun also automatically performs gunstrikes when one is available, allowing you to keep butchering heretics. This ability enables the Techmarine to engage with enemies after a perfect dodge or parry, letting the DPS pile up. This perk is also the first time, and possibly the last time, we’ve ever seen anything like this in any class.

The Techmarine’s tech capabilities don’t stop there, either, as he can interact with a new map element to enhance your firepower. During your missions, you and your battle brothers may come across Tarantula sentry turrets. Once located, the Techmarine can repair it, and it will attack your enemies until it’s out of ammunition or destroyed.

How Should I Play The Space Marine 2 Techmarine?

The Space Marine 2 Techmarine is the ultimate crowd controller, equipped with multi-angle weapons and abilities. The first thought that should come to mind when seeing a horde of enemies isn’t to run, but to dive headfirst into the mess. Your battle brothers may be able to spec into crowd control, but it comes naturally for you, so show the enemies exactly that.

Sadly, we all have to wait for the release of the Techmarine update, as that’s where the Techmarine will be released. So until then, continue to purge the heretic and cleanse the unclean, IN THE NAME OF THE EMPEROR!
