The FBC: Firebreak Rouge Protocol is finally here as of January 19, 2026, and it offers potentially endless fun. The patch also includes the usual bug fixes and adjustments to improve the game’s stability. Alongside that, it also brings a couple of new game mechanics that spice up the game a bit and allow you to show off a little.

The FBC: Firebreak Rouge Protocol update marks itself as the second major update for FBC: Firebreak. The first update arrived on September 30, 2025, just three months after the game’s launch. So let’s see what Rouge Protocol has in store for our dear Firebreakers and see if it trumps the previous updates.

The Contents Of The FBC: Firebreak Rouge Protocol Update

At first glance, the FBC: Firebreak Rouge Protocol update doesn’t seem to contain much, but all it takes is just a closer look. While the total added content may seem lacking, this update’s main feature is dense with content. And that main feature in question is the Endless Shift game mode that your Firebreakers can partake in.

Endless Shift is a rouguelite mode that features waves of ever-increasingly dangerous enemies. However, like in other rouguelites, you also become increasingly stronger with various builds and weapons as the waves progress. Sadly, you’re no Tenno, just a normal human, so you won’t breeze through these waves that easily.

In Endless Shift, you and up to two other players get dropped into a sealed section of the Oldest House. But this section of the Oldest House is unlike the others; its Hiss corruption is much stronger than anything anyone has ever seen. Due to that, the various zones and anyone who dares to enter them will inevitably become corrupted with Hiss.

But let’s put that thought of inevitable corruption on the back burner, and instead, let’s talk about what you’ll be doing down there. While performing the most dangerous yet most important job in the bureau, your team must clear as many waves of enemies as you can. And in between the waves of enemies, you can spend Corruption points you gain from cleansing the Hiss.

You can spend these points on enhancements for your gear or your Firebreaker, and you can create “builds” this way. And once you find your rhythm, you can go on for as long as you’d like, granted that you can survive. After getting reeled back in from your Endless Shift, you earn exclusive cosmetics based on your lifetime kill count.

Not only that, but you can also earn new enhancements for future expeditions into the cavernous bowls of the Oldest House. You can also retain enhancements after completing Endless Shift, which transfers to the standard game modes. However, this only lasts for a single session outside of the Endless Shift, so choose what Crisis you do carefully.

The FBC: Firebreak Rouge Protocol update also introduces a few objective randomizations for Crises. Namely, Ground Control now has Kill Leeches, Paper Chase now has Clear Sticky Note Nests, and Outbreak now has Kill Mold Walkers. You can also now inspect your weapon by pressing the reload key while fully loaded.

Is That All For The FBC: Firebreak Rouge Protocol Update?

The FBC: Firebreak Rouge Protocol update also contains a double xp event that begins on January 23, 2026, and ends on January 26, 2026. It also features a few new cosmetic sets, including two armor sets, sprays, and exotic helmets. But enough reading, you have an important job to do, Firebreaker, now get down there and clear out that Hiss!
