The second Battlefield 6 open beta has begun, and players can finally enjoy the chaotic battlefield once again. Players can enjoy four whole days of the Battlefield 6 open beta and experience the chaotic fun. The second weekend of the Battlefield 6 open beta will last from Thursday, August 14, to Sunday, August 17, 2025.
And not only do players get everything from the first beta, including all of their progress from the first event. Players also get to experience all-new game modes, rewards, and a new map as well. So, how will the second Battlefield 6 open beta compare to the first, and will the new content affect results?
The New Contents In The Second Battlefield 6 Open Beta

The second Battlefield 6 open beta introduces new content for players to experience and test out. These include new game modes, rewards, and a new map for players to occupy and demolish. The new exciting content that players can experience in the second Battlefield 6 open beta is as follows:
- The Rush Gamemode:
A new game mode where a team of attackers and defenders battle for control of a series of M-COMS (Military Communication Systems). Attackers must plant explosives at each system, and defenders must diffuse them before they detonate. When attackers destroy all M-COMS, the match proceeds into the next sector.
The game ends when either the attacking team destroys all M-COMS or the attacking team runs out of lives.
- The Squad Deathmatch Gamemode:
The classic fast-paced, close-quarters team deathmatch game mode. Except that four separate squads compete for victory with one objective: reach the kill goal.
- The Empire State Map: A map featuring the iconic architecture of Brooklyn, New York’s tight alleyways, open rooftops, and everything in between. Due to the cramped nature of Brooklyn, vehicles won’t be available in this map. Thus, the new Empire State map will only be playable as infantry with no armor or air support.
- The Custom Matchmaking System: Players can now choose which game modes and maps to include or exclude while matchmaking for a game. Unfortunately, matchmaking times will be affected depending on your choices. However, the matchmaking system may adjust past your preferences to get you into games quicker.
- The New Open Beta Challenges And Rewards: Like the first beta, the second Battlefield 6 open beta presents new challenges for players to complete. These challenges aren’t just for bragging rights; they also reward players with exclusive prizes. The rewards for the second open beta are: The War Machine vehicle skin, the Bat Company dog tag, and the Striking Distance weapon package.
Apart from the new content, the second Battlefield 6 open beta also features a new playlist of game modes. These playlists hold the new game modes and the new map for everyone to play and explore. And with the new playlists, players can earn progress in the new challenges to unlock exclusive rewards.
The Second Battlefield 6 Open Beta Playlists

The second Battlefield 6 open beta spans four days, the two days leading to the weekend and the weekend itself. And each day contains a playlist full of game modes for you and your friends to try out. These playlists combine both old and new game modes, along with the Empire State map.
The playlists for each day are as follows:
Day 1, Thursday, August 14:
- Conquest:
The signature Battlefield experience, where armor and air support fight alongside infantry to turn the tides of war. Two teams fight to control key objectives across a wide range of maps. Each objective drains the lives of the enemy team, and once a team’s lives have hit zero, the match ends.
Objectives aren’t the only thing that affects the enemy team’s lives. Killing enemy soldiers also drains the enemy team’s lives, but there is something that can prevent that. The Support class can revive downed teammates, which negates the drain on team life.
- Rush
- Attack & Defend (Breakthrough, Rush):
The Attack & Defend playlist consists of two game modes where two teams must attack and defend. These game modes are Rush and Breakthrough. We’ve already explained what Rush is, but Breakthrough is Battlefield’s most intense game mode.
In Breakthrough, a team of attackers pushes the frontline forward while a team of defenders works to prevent their advance. The attacking team wins by taking every objective, and the defending team wins by draining the attacking team’s lives.
- Close Quarters (Domination, King of the Hill):
Close Quarters is a fast-paced playlist featuring tight and small maps for the ultimate CQB (Close Quarters Battle) experience. This playlist comprises two game modes, Domination and King of the Hill.
Domination requires both teams to capture and hold multiple control points to earn points for their team. A team comes out victorious by accumulating enough points before the other team.
And King of the Hill makes both teams capture a single control point to gain points for their team. While both teams can control the same objective, only one team can capture enough points to win.
- Closed Weapons All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough):
This playlist is for those who prefer the classic Battlefield class experience. It includes the Conquest and Breakthrough game modes along with the included maps. Closed weapons means that classes can only access their class-locked weapons.
For example, the Assault class can only use Assault Rifles, Shotguns, Carbines, and Designated Marksman Rifles.
Day 2, Friday, August 15:
- Conquest
- Squad Deathmatch
- Close Quarters (Domination, King of the Hill, Squad Deathmatch)
- All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush)
- Closed Weapons All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough)
Day 3 to 4, Saturday to Sunday, August 16 to 17:
- Conquest
- Close Quarters (Domination, King of the Hill, Squad Deathmatch)
- All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush)
- Closed Weapons All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough)
