Many new players wonder how to S-rank missions in Ready or Not and what tools to use to do so. With the release of the Los Sueños Stories update on July 15, 2025, console players came flooding in. Following the surge of new players, many wonder how they can achieve an S-rank on missions in Ready or Not.
With so many missions, not even including the DLCs, and so many weapons to choose from, it’s daunting for the average recruit. But why does your equipment matter to acquiring that coveted S-rank? And what is the requirement for an S-rank on missions, and what rewards do you earn?
What Should You Use To S-Rank Missions In Ready Or Not

You may understand your goal is to S-rank missions in Ready or Not, but what should you use to accomplish this goal? While your standard lethal arsenal can complete any mission just fine, it won’t do you any good if you strive for that golden S-rank. That’s why you should incorporate the following into your loadout:
- Non-Lethal Weapons: Ready or Not is home to several non-lethal weapons, such as pepperball guns and more. The mentioned pepperball guns are the VPL-25 rifle, TPL submachine gun, and TRPL pistol, along with the famous TASER. Ready or Not also holds a less-than-lethal Bean Bag Shotgun that can be lethal if aimed at the head, thus the “less” in less-than-lethal.
- Gas, Gas, and More Gas: CS gas in Ready or Not is one of the most effective tools you can use to S-rank missions. You can use CS gas grenades or use a CS gas grenade launcher to deposit them into a room and let the gas fill the room. But if suspects are wearing gas masks just like you, you may also use flashbang or stinger grenades.
- Other Tools: Although the tools mentioned above should be enough to S-rank any mission, there are still some honorable mentions. One of these mentions is the mirror gun, one of your long tactical items used to peek under doors or around a corner to get a better look inside a room. And the door wedge, a deployable device that blocks the use of doors and guarantees that no suspects can enter or exit via that door.
More importantly, these tools won’t automatically guarantee you the S-rank; you must earn that yourself. These non-lethal tools are just the requirement to make that S-rank possible, but the rest is up to your skills. No one said this was easy after all.
What Does The S-Rank In Ready Or Not Give You?

The S-rank in Ready or Not doesn’t just give you bragging rights; it also gives you in-game rewards. These rewards can either be achievements or cosmetic items. Players can earn these cosmetic items by completing missions with varying grades, but the prestigious cosmetics require an S-rank.
Now, with the goal of S-ranking missions in mind, you know how to arm yourself to achieve it. Whether you do this alone, with AI, or with a friend, your goal remains clear. Your primary goal is to save lives, and your second goal is to secure that S-rank. So are you Ready or Not?
