Ready or Not fans are not taking the latest update lightly. When it comes to realistic SWAT shooters, Ready or Not sits as the king of the genre. That’s no surprise there, as it’s worked hard to earn that title.
Recently, they released the newest update, alongside ports to consoles, so more players can join the ranks in the game. In the same update, many fans are enraged regarding some changes. So let’s see what’s causing all this uproar in the community.
Ready or Not Fans See VOID Struggling With Sony
Void released an update that fixed many of the problems in the game, making Ready or Not fans quite concerned. From items falling through the floors to game crashes in some areas, they’ve cleaned up the game massively.
Still, many are outraged by the update, and while some make sense, a few others don’t for being removed. This was a massive surprise to fans when it was leaked earlier this year, and it only fueled the fire.
The biggest thing people are complaining about wasn’t fully removed, but it changed some evidence names found on some missions. These items were evidence you collected to arrest the suspects in the game. The items are linked to very inappropriate material for minors.
The backlash from the changes is people saying that it was just a game, and we never fully saw the material. People who don’t mind the change said at the time it made sense, but it’s worth changing if it means more players in-game.
Another change is on the final mission, where you find a crate filled with women who were kidnapped and sold off. These women were fully stripped, as it comes as a shock to many players on a first-time playthrough of the game.
In the update, they were given underwear and bras, a change that doesn’t seem that big, but fans were pissed. Some said it ruined the immersion of the game, while others said it wasn’t that big of a deal.
Future of Ready or Not and Its Fans
The final change I’ll talk about is one most fans agree is a little silly to get rid of in-game. At some point, a fellow officer can be found wearing a ‘birthday suit’, which basically means he’s fully naked. This change doesn’t change much, but many say it’s unnecessary with it being a mature-rated game, and it was funny to everyone.
At the end of the day, Ready or Not, with the changes, doesn’t lose much in immersion in-game. Plus, the inclusion of consoles might mean crossplay at some point, so it seems worth the trade, but what do you think?
