On July 10, 2025, Arrowhead revealed the new Control Group Warbond in Helldivers 2, set to release on July 17, 2025. This Warbond promises new experimental technologies developed by the MoD R&D (Ministry of Defense Research & Development). But with the technology being so new and highly experimental, will it be truly effective?

The Warbond has only just been revealed, but Helldivers 2 players are already excited to use the new upcoming content. The growing excitement is also magnified by the MoD R&D itself. Helldivers are urged to field test a new range of experimental weapons once they’re distributed.

What The New Helldivers 2 Control Group Warbond Contains

The new Helldivers 2 Control Group Warbond was recently declassified by the MoD R&D for the Helldivers. The new Control Group Warbond contains unexplored and highly experimental gadgets built from acquired alien technology. The state-of-the-art prototypes in question are as follows:

  • The VG-70 Variable: A seven-barrelled volley gun with three different firing modes. These include Auto, with three selectable RPM values, Volley, which fires a single shot from each barrel at once, and Total, which fires all remaining ammunition in one go. The MoD R&D team warns that using the Total firing mode with a maximum load of ammo will result in bodily harm.
  • The G-31 Arc: A grenade that smites any foe around it when thrown. Its properties are similar to the shells used in the GL-52 De-Escalator. Therefore, proceed with caution when near other field testers.
  • The AD-49 Apollonian: A sparkling new heavy armor integrated with the new Adreno-Defibrillator armor passive.
  • The AD-26 Bleeding Edge: An armor sporting the same armor passive but in a lighter medium package.
  • The Adreno-Defibrillator Passive: This new armor activates to revive you to full health after you take lethal damage. The MoD R&D team stated that the Adreno-Defibrillator can only activate once, meaning that after its activation, the user will continuously lose health until life functions cease. It also increases stim effects for two more seconds and gives a 50% resistance to arc damage.
  • The PLAS-45 Epoch: A new support weapon that charges and fires a focused plasma sphere, similar to the PLAS-101 Purifier. It’s ready for battlefield use despite the lack of safety features. Meaning that overcharging it will result in injury, but the MoD R&D team is sure you can handle it.
  • The LIFT-182 Warp Pack: A backpack stratagem that is said to be the most significant and exciting development from the MoD. The MoD R&D team has harnessed the power of Dark Fluid to generate a semi-stable wormhole on demand. Once activated, you can teleport short distances with no cooldown between jumps, though don’t do it too often.
  • The A/LAS-98 Laser Sentry: A brand new sentry that replaces the ammo boxes on standard turrets with a supersized heatsink. Hence, allowing the potential for infinite laser firing. However, the MoD R&D team reminds you that the turret can overheat and explode if activated for too long without breaks.
